Double Whammy

Falcons played two matches today all same scoreline 2-5.

1st match was against some stuck up team where we went down 1-0 after a defensive error.

We managed to equalise just before half time where a wonderful pass from Valentino set Wee Lee free and drove it in with his left foot into the bottom corner.

Half Time 1-1

2nd half began and we were hit with a triple salvo within 10 minutes and we were down 4-1.
managed to pull one back to make it 4-2 after some fine passing which led to Wee Lee passing to Wei Wen to score.

The opponents managed to get back their advantage to make it 5-2.

2nd match was against some Indian team where we went down 2-0 at half time

Half Time 2-0

2nd half began and we went down 4-0.

Falcons managed to break through after a one to with Wei Thai and Mun Chung which allowed Mun Chung to cross in which was met by Lorenzo who scores his 1st goal for the club.

The opponents make it 5-1 a few minutes later.

The Falcons managed to find some strength to grab a consolation goal.A cross in led the keeper to claim the ball and Sanjeven managed to pressurize the keeper into conceding the goal.

The slump continues.

The Falcons got to their third succesive defeats in the season as they lost 3-0,the biggest defeat so far in the season.They are now winless in 4 games.

Barely a minute into a match, the opponents shoud have a man sent off after kicking Wei Wen's leg. Stupid Ref...go back study thanks.

Things gone from bad to worse as the opponents opened up the floodgates after a defensive mix up and the ball just bobbed into the net.

Wee Lee also had a chance when he forced the defender into a mistake and took a powerful left foot shot but it went wide.

Shortly after that, Jarrad opened his scoring account after the opponents hit a low cross into the penalty area and Jarrad hit the ball into the bottom right hand corner leaving Kah Shin rooted to the ground 2-0.

Falcons had a goal ruled out after Wee Lee sent in a low ball towards Sanjeven who made contact with the ball and the Keeper diving at Sanjeven and the keeper went to the ground screaming like a girl.Wei Dong followed up with a volley and hit the back of the net but was ruled out for a foul.

Half Time 2-0.

Second half came and Falcons went on the offensive. Many good chances but all were wasted.
As the opponents got too confident they got sloppy and the Falcons strikers managed to force them into conceding the ball.

Wei Wen had a great chance to score with only the keeper to beat he lobs over the keeper but went high and wide ... dang pass to me ma i beside u nia

Another chance for the Falcons as a great through ball from the midfield and it was a 2v1 situation Wei Wen and Mun Chung got into a miscommunication and lost the ball where Wee Lee tried to follow up and the Keeper saved it.

Gameover as the opponents scored the third and decisive goal as a through ball from their midfield sent their winger through and went past our defence and took a good low shot which shook the left hand side of the net.

Falcon Fc slumped to their 2nd straight defeat of the season.

Things did not get off to a good start as the Falcons lost possession seconds after the kick off.

8 minutes into the match,Kaiser Utd had the first corner of the match and some poor defending allowed their striker to have a free header and scored the opening goal.

On the 14th minute,they scored yet again.This time a long dipping volley caught our keeper Jun Yi off guard and the score was 2-0.

22 minutes into the match, the Falcons had the first real opening of the match where a fantastic build up play with Mun Chung,Wei Thai and Wei Jie allowed Mum Chong to run free down the right flank and sent in a low cross which was met by Wei Thai but was just inches wide.

3 minutes later,Halif sent a pint point pass to Wei Thai who got the ball but held it too long and took a shot which was blocked by the defender.

32nd minute, a counter attack by the Falcons saw a 6 man attack on the opponent,where Wei Jie opened up the defence with a wonderful through pass and scored the equaliser.

Half time came and the Falcons were piling on the pressure.

2nd Half restarted and the momentum was shifting towards the Falcons.

On the 52nd minute, a wonderful link up play with the Falcons saw Wei Wen cutting through two defenders and fired a low drive which hit the pole.

64th minute,a corner came which was met by Joe where his header hit the crossbar.

As the Falcons kept attacking,the opponent defence was resolute.

On the 79th minute, a 5V4 situation in the Falcon attack saw a wasted opportunity by Jason where he fired a shot over unmarked from the edge of the box.

Full time came and Falcons lose 2-1.

Falcons Walking Wounded

The Falcons slumped to their first defeat of the season,losing 2-0 to Premier.

The Falcons were techinically outplayed in all areas but still,our defence stood firm and minimized the damage.

The Falcons got off to a quiet start,with much of the possession going to Premier.Although chances were rare for both sides,gaps in defence were evident for both sides.

On the 28th minute,Premier attacked the right flank and sent in a seemingly harmless shot but a miscommunication between Liksheng and JunYi caused Liksheng to miscue his clearence straight to the opponent for an easy tap in.Falcons trail 1-0.

On the 37th minute, a rare breakthrough for the Falcons as Cheng Kong sent a wonderful long ball to Wei Thai.As the central defender closed him down,Wei Thai faked him and dribbled past him only to be pushed down in the penalty box.Cries for a penalty were unheeded and was written off wrongly.

A rare start for Daryl as his most notable contribution of the game was gettting booked for dangerous play on the 41st minute.

Falcons head off to the break 1-0 down with no shots attempted.

Kick off for the second half as Falcons chased for the equaliser.Winger Sanjeven had to limp off on the 56th minute after a collison with the Premier striker.

Premier delivered the knock out blow to the Falcons as they scored on the 62 minute.A corner came in but it was too deep and it was heading out for a throw in,But their winger somehow managed to stop it.Wei Thai tries to clsoe him down but he dribbled past Wei Thai and sents a low ball to their striker who unleashed an unstoppable shot which left Jun Yi with no chance.

Falcons were awarded a free kick on the 68th minute as Galvin was fouled by the Premier midfielder and Wei Wen step up to take a shot which went straight to the wall.

Falcons still did not give up and another breakthrough by the Falcons on the 73rd minute as Joe recieved the ball from the midfield and had the option of playing through to Wei Thai who was unmarked but chose to take the shot which went wide.

On the 77th minute Jun Yi produce a potential save of the season as a pint point cross which was met by the Premier striker who powered a header to the top right hand corner which was acrobatically saved by Jun Yi.

With no subs left to use,the Falcons were walking wounded.

On the 82nd minute,Wei Wen had a great opportunity to sent a cross in to Galvin and Valentino after masterfully dribbling past three players but instead of crossing the ball in he decides to dribble through more players but was subdued by the central defender.

Full time whistle came and Falcons met their first defeat of the season.

Falcons Held 2-2

It was the second match of the season for the Falcons as they were held 2-2 to One United after an average performance by the Falcons.

The Falcons got off to a good start as they were given an indirect free kick within the first minute after a good pressure by Bob to force the keeper to catch the ball after receiving a back pass.Wei Wen took the shot but it was low and straight to the wall.

Shot stopper Jun Yi was called into action on the 14th minute as One United attacked on the left flank which saw them unleashing a fierce shot from the edge of the box but Jun Yi was equal to it and parried the ball away.

With most of the possesion beeing palyed in the midfield, the game was pretty much tight and the small field wasnt helping both team as the midfield was congested.

On the 27th minute an attack by One United on the left flank saw their winger charging down the line and he sent in a cross which he slipped and somehow the ball floated into the net to give One United a 1-0 lead.Both teams were equally stunned and the same has to be said for the Falcon keeper

As the Falcons pressed on for the equaliser,the speedy right back Halif dazzled past the One United midfield and earned a foul after he was blocked off by the One United defence.Halif took the free kick and smashed it in from 35 yards to give the Falcons the equaliser in the 34th minute.

A triple subsitution for the Falcons as Wei Wen , Valentino and Bob was replaced by Sanjeven, Wei Thai and Lorenzo.

Both teams were canceling each other out and chances were few although One United appeared to be the better team.

Another Subsitution came for the Falcons as Galvin was replaced by debutant Ram.

The half time came and both team went into the break with the score and 1 a piece.

One United had the kick off and found themselves in trouble as a mis control by their defender allowed Wei Thai to close him down but was adjudged to have fouled the One United defender.

The Falcon keeper was once again called into action as the opponent unleashed another shot at the keeper was was palmed away by Jun Yi.

On the 56th minute,a through ball set Sanjeven free on the right flank and won a throw deep into the opponent half.Sanjeven took a quick throw to Player Of The Year Qi Wei and some good movements by Sanjeven and Wei Thai allowed the Qi Wei to shoot unmarked from a tight angle with his left foot which curled to the right hand corner, leaving the keeper with no chance.Falcons lead 2-1.

Another triple subsitution for the Falcons as Wei Thai,Lorenzo and Sanjeven were replaced by Wei Wen , Bob and Valentino.

On the 64th minute , a defensive lapse by the Falcons allowed the opponent to attack on the left flank which resulted in the opponent to unleash a rocket past Jun Yi to equalise for One United.

On the 70th minute One United took a quick free kick and found their striker but the Falcons recovered well and snuffed out the attack.

An uncharacteristic error by Falcon Keeper Jun Yi on the 75th minute as he misjudged a bounce from the ball which allowed the ball to bounce over him, leaving him stranded in no man's land and was met by the opponent striker but was clear by teck boon with a fantastic recovery clearence,

On the 78th minute a defensive error by One United defence allowed a long ball to find Wei Wen as he had oceans of space in the box.The Falcons had 2 strikers unmarked in the box, as Wei Wen tries to shoot for glory, it could only find the side netting.Another rare chance goes begging.

With One United dominating the game,the Falcons can count their blessings as the managed to hold on to a 2-2 draw against One United.

Falcons Cruise To Victory Over Koreans

Falcon FC started their New Year in an emphatic fashion,winning 3-0 against Korean Missionary Church.

The Falcons did not get off to a good start as they were being dominated in the opening 15 minutes.The first chance of the game fell to the Koreans on the 2nd minute of the game as they took a shot just inside the 18-yard box but was straight at the keeper.Soon after that,Falcon FC keeper JunYi,was called into action once again,this time saving a shot again inside the penalty box from a corner in the 10th minute.More heorics from the shot-stopper once again as he pulled off an amazing double save after a goaline scramble on the 13th minute.

Soon after that,Falcon FC got their first chance of the match as free kick specialist,Wei Wen sent a blazing shot from 20 yards out,just over the bar.Jarrad also had a pop at the goal from a free kick but was a wide of the target.As the Koreans kept piling on the pressure,the flamboyant winger,Sanjeven scored against the run of play on the 27th minute.Bob played a through ball towards Sanjeven and Sanjeven positions himself to send a wonderful shot into the goal.The keeper had no chance as the ball looped over him and into the goal.

A subsitution for the Falcons after that as debutant Liksheng was replace by another debutant Wei dong.

The tide was starting to change and on the 30th minute,Galvin decides to run against the Korean backline,he gets the ball after an attack by the Koreans,and started charging down the left flank .As he beat the left defender,he sets himself up with a shot but it hits the side-netting.On the 32nd minute,Bob also had a change but the side netting again denies the goal.Valentino also had a fantastic chance to put the Falcons 2-0 up where a defensive error by the Koreans allowed Valen to have a 1-on-1 situation with the keeper but the shot was blocked by the keeper

The Koreans then had a great chance to score where a slip up in the Falcon defence allowed the Koreans to send a curler which looks destined for goal but was just narrowly wide.

A subsitution took place on the 34th minute when Wei Thai comes on for Bob,and on the 40th minute Wei Thai gets the ball from Wei Wen and tries a shot from 25 yards but was just inches wide.

Half time came and the match was restarted 10 minutes later.

Early in the second half , the Falcons were awarded a corner.A cross from Bob was enough to cause confusion agains the Koreans and it came off their own player and the Falcons were 2-0 up.

The Koreans tried to find a goal but was constantly nullified by the strong back line led by captatin Jarrad.But their exploration for the goals led them to play a high line of defence which played to the Falcons advantage.Their backline was severly exposed as waves of counter attack by the Falcons as they put on the pressure on the Koreans.

On the 58th minute,Wei Wen was set free as after a wonderful ball from the midfield allowed Wei Wen to have a superb opportunity to score but with an easier option to chip over the keeper,he decides to round off the keeper but was forced wide and took the shot which was blocked by the keeper and onto the pole.

Bob also had a wonderful chance to score as he danced his way around the left flank and beat two Koreans and could only muster a shot straight at the keeper.

On the 72 minute,Valentino played a good ball to playmaker, Qi Wei who was unmarked in the 18 yard box,Qi Wei sent a low drive into the bottom right corner to put Falcons 3-0 up and were cruising in control.

With a win secure,the Falcons wanted more but a series of missed chances meant that the Falcons opened their first match in 2009 with a convincing 3-0 win over Korean Missonary Team.
